Makram Aboul Hosn


Currently settled in Beirut after studying in New York and The Netherlands, Makram is a member of The Lebanese National Philharmonic Orchestra and a regular performer in Beirut's music scene.


His musical career began with playing Rock and Blues in the music clubs of Beirut, Lebanon. As time progressed, he became intrigued with Jazz and pursued his studies in Jazz and Classical music at the Lebanese National Conservatory. Makram’s real education, however, came from his extensive playing schedule.


Makram is one of the most sought after musicians in Beirut because of his ability to play a multitude of styles such as Jazz, Blues, Rock, Latin, Arabic, and Classical music.


He had the the opportunity to perform with the likes of Cedar Walton, Randy Brecker, Larry Coryell, Giovanni Cecarelli and Cyrus Chestnut. Along with great Blues musicians like Carl Weathersby, Eddie Van Shaw, Deborah Coleman, and Jazz Fusion guitarist Jean-Paul Bourelly.

Makram has spent a considerable number of hours in the recording studios of Beirut and is featured on several local artists' albums. He is a member of the popular Lebanese Rock group MEEN, performing and recording with them since 2008. Makram also leads his own "Aboul Hosn" Quartet which performs his compositions and arrangements.
